How enable Push Notifications for Google Sync: Gmail Account

Now you don’t need to buy third party applications to get Push Notifications for Gmail on your iPhone / iPod touch, all your Gmail pushed directly to your iPhone. Your inbox is always up to date no matter where you are, or what you’re doing.

Before Enabling Push Notifications for Gmail Account you need to set Gmail account via Google Sync (Click here for Steps to Setup Google Sync)

Here, are the steps to enable Push Notifications for Google Sync Account:

1. Open the Settings application on your device’s home screen.
2. Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

3. Now tap on Fetch New Data.

4. Now tap on Push if it is OFF and switch it ON.

5. Scroll down on the same screen and tap on Advanced

6. Now tap on your Google Sync Gmail Account (for ex: torque’s gmail account)

7. Select Push to enable Push Notifications, Once it is checked, you can press the home button to exit.

Here, you go !!! You’ve enabled Push Notifications for Google Sync Gmail Account.
Note that Google Calendar does not support Push Notifications at the moment, may be we’ll see it soon, till that time you can only Fetch it by manually launching the Calendar app or you can schedule it to Fetch based on your timer that you had set.
